Kid Stuff

Can you believe Sesame Street is 40 years old today!? Seriously. Growing up, I was a huge fan of the show. No you don't understand, I mean HUGE! I was very fond of the Cookie Monster, Count and Kermit. But my favorite character was always Grover. And now that I've spent a good portion of this very evening watching old clips on You Tube, I understand why I loved Grover so much. He's absolutely golden! Watch this classic clip and try to tell me you don't get a good chuckle from ol' Grover... particularly at the 1:06 mark.

I'm a few days late in sharing this, but it's appropriate for the post. I get a lot of text messages from my niece, Chelsea. And I secretly love it. Some of them are incredibly random - a girl after my own heart. But I think it's pretty neat that she likes to share things with me, as random as they may be. Does this mean that she considers me the cool aunt? I think so! I'm golden!

Anyways, I received this picture text Halloween night:

Look at all my candy!
CHELLYBELLY:)

My friend, Mel, was shopping in a scrapbook store with her son, Nich, when they saw a line of papers that was very retro. Mel commented, "that would be the perfect paper for Julie." And Nich matter-of-factly stated that they should buy it for me.

That Nich... he's a good kid. I've always liked him.

A few seconds passed and Nich said, "Never mind that, Mom. I think I need a new Lego set instead."

That Nich... he's a rotten punk!

0:36 "Work it out for yourself froggy. We did."

Golden, I tell ya! Golden!

Awwwwwwww - Sesame Street was surely a staple for me growing up, although I really like the jaded side of the Muppet Show better. Maddie loves to watch them with me (we have seasons 1 & 2). Manamana..doo-doo-doodoo. TFS.
